Amidst everything that's going on as a result of the pandemic, there has been lots of information about COVID-19 that's difficult to follow and doesn't speak to the specific context that we at Khuluma are working in: tackling social isolation and stigma among young people in southern Africa.
We therefore decided to ask Khuluma's adolescent mentors, all of whom are living with HIV in South Africa, what kind of messages they would like to see and how they would like them to be designed.
The mentors were very quick at responding to this challenge. Together we've created a COVID-19 awareness campaign designed for young people in southern Africa that's focused on how to stay safe and healthy, and how to keep feelings of loneliness and isolation at bay, during lockdown.
We're sharing these graphics as widely as possible, including with other organisations working with vulnerable populations and/or in southern Africa. You can view and download the graphics here - please feel free to use and share them.
